Josh Nickerson was born in September of 1979. Three years later, he took crayon to paper and drew what his mother could only describe as "scribbling that's supposed to be a dog". Thus began his dream of becoming a cartoonist. In school, he spent more time doodling in his classbooks than actually paying attention, and in high school, had his comics and drawings published in the school paper and in his senior yearbook. Graduating to Louisiana Tech University, Josh persued a degree in Graphic Design, which he saw as an excuse to draw during class and not get in trouble for it (he quickly found out he was wrong, though). Over the four years of study, he refined his skills and became even more determined to reach his dreams, and even had a run of comics published in the university newspaper during his senior year.

Upon graduating from the university, Josh first moved to Virginia, hoping to find work his field of study, but instead found mountains. Lots of mountains. Oh, and rednecks. Lots of rednecks. He found employment at Wal-Mart, which inspired him to write his first graphic novel "Mid-Shift". After four years in the mountains close (perhaps TOO close) to the West Virginia border, Josh moved back south to Athens, Georgia, where he finally found a graphics job.

Currently Josh is still working as a Graphic Designer in Athens, but hasn't given up his dream of becoming a full time professional cartoonist. He is a regular contributing cartoonist to Athens Flagpole magazine, and in mid-2006, relaunched "The Nolans", a comic strip he had been working on and off on since he was 12, onto the web, where he maintains a regular updating schedule. He also has several other projects in the works, as well as some other things that are just bouncing around in his brain.

Josh is a huge comic and animation fan, as if you couldn't tell already. His favorite comics include the legendary Peanuts, Zits, Calvin & Hobbes, Foxtrot, Count Your Sheep, and Breakpoint City. His top animated shows include The Simpsons, Futurama, Kim Possible, Pokemon, South Park, and Batman: The Animated Series. He has also amassed a large collection of Nintendo consoles, from the NES to the Wii, and enjoys the comic stylings of Mystery Science Theater.
